Principal Responsibilities:
Within the Youth and Recreation department, Director of Youth Enrichment and Programming will oversee and help support enrichment programs that include but are not limited to:
- Birthday parties.
- Youth sports and recreation, including Hudson Cliffs Baseball League, Basketball, Dance, Gymnastics, etc.
- Family literacy.
- Weekday enrichment programs, including robotics, piano, etc.
- Evening programs, including, Kid's Night Out, etc.
- Infant and toddler programs, including Toddler Exploration, Kid's Gym, etc.
- Within the Camp department, this position will oversee all programmatic needs for
- Camp Twelve Trails, which includes but is not limited to:
- Camp Twelve Trails daily schedule.
- Camp Twelve Trails special event schedule.
- Vacation Camp Programs during the school year for Winter Recess, Mid-Winter Recess, and Spring Recess.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
During the School Year:
- Conduct outreach and marketing efforts to recruit program participants.
- Communicate regularly with program participants and families to ensure ongoing engagement and provide program updates.
- Collaborate with after-school program directors to align sports and enrichment programs with community needs and expectations.
- Interview, hire, and schedule staff to implement sports and enrichment programs, ensuring proper coverage for all activities.
- Manage program logistics, including organizing and maintaining program materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of program participant attendance, registration, and contact information.
- Handle all tasks related to program finances, including billing, and coordinate with the finance team and Managing Director on budget matters.
- Ensure the effective coordination of facilities and resources for sports and enrichment programming.
- Prepare and review program evaluations and reports to assess the success and impact of sports and enrichment initiatives.
- Support the Managing Director and Director of Elementary Afterschool Programs in identifying expansion opportunities and designing and implementing new Sports and Enrichment programs.
- Set up program space and activities for sports and enrichment programs.
- Welcome and orient families and students, engaging them to further their connection with the Y.
- Oversee all Youth and Recreation sports initiatives, such as yoga, basketball clinics, or community-based programs.
Camp Twelve Trails (September-June):
- Participate and lead pre-camp training in May & June.
- Work with the Program Team to develop the Camp Calendar, special events days, and camp schedule.
- Support Assistant Program Director with Special events planning.
- Oversee supply ordering and budget tracking for the Program Department.
Camp Twelve Trails (July-August):
- Oversee camp schedule, including daily and weekly changes based on staffing/activities.
- Support Assistant Program Director with Special events planning and execution.
- Support specialists and their supervisors (Neighborhood Coordinators) with lesson planning and integration of camp values.
- Support with the execution of camp-wide events such as Boker Tov ( morning assembly) and Shabbat.
- Ensure all activities are adequately staffed.
- Communicate special event plans to families through email and text announcements.
- Attend all leadership meetings and present plans for all upcoming events.
- Host meetings as necessary, including a weekly Program Team meeting on Fridays.
- Assist with post-camp clean-up and inventory of all program spaces.
- Assist Camp Leadership Team with day-to-day tasks as needed.
- Work with the Camp Director to maintain the Camp's ACA accreditation status and Dept of Health Permit through proper file management for all program spaces.
- Support camp team with social media presence and strategy.
- Provide on-site assistance, ensuring smooth program operations.
COMPENSATION:
- $65,000 to $70,000 per year.

Minimum Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Must have excellent time management skills, be flexible, be a team player, be open to feedback, be creative, and have excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent assessment and written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Willing to work some evenings and Saturdays as needed.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Full-time, FLSA Exempt, in-person position.
- September-June: Sunday through Thursday, with some Fridays or Saturdays as needed. (specific hours to be determined)
- July and August: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:30 pm* on site at Camp Twelve Trails;additional hours may be required during the summer season.
WORK AUTHORIZATION & CLEARANCE:
- Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must pass the background check, medical tests, fingerprinting through the Department of Health & Department of Education, and other pre-employment requirements.
