The Director of Youth Career Services is responsible for overseeing all programmatic aspects of career services for youth and young adults, with a focus on preparing individuals for meaningful employment opportunities. This position will play a critical role in managing the DYCD-funded CRED (Community Resources for Employment and Development) program, which aims to provide employment training, career development services, and critical support for individuals in need. The Director will work collaboratively with the Director of Adult Career Services to ensure a comprehensive, holistic approach to career support across different age groups.

You are a strategic leader, strong communicator and take pride in accuracy. You are detail oriented and possess strong management skills and cultural competence. You have a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by youth and young adults in securing and maintaining employment. You have experience in program management and knowledge of DYCD funding and regulations, or experience working with government contracts and grants.
What You’ll Do
- Serves as the primary liaison to NYC’s Department for Youth and Community Development (DYCD).
- Oversees key program staff, including: outreach/retention specialist, instructors, case managers, mental health professional and job developer, and ensure they are equipped with the training, resources, and support needed to effectively deliver career services.
- Ensures all administrative deliverables are completed in a timely manner, and in high quality.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve youth career development services that address the unique needs of youth and young adults
- Leads quality, day-to-day program operations.
- Work closely with the Director of Adult Career Services to ensure alignment of services between youth and adult programs, sharing best practices, resources, and strategies
- Coordinate efforts to identify employment opportunities, internships, and partnerships with employers that are appropriate for both youth and adult populations
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, educational institutions, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance program offerings and secure employment opportunities for participants
- Represent the organization in community meetings, conferences, and professional events to build awareness and advocacy for youth career services
- All other tasks as administered by supervisor.
Our Requirements
- Experience managing workforce programs for at-risk populations
- Experience supporting young adults/adults involved in the criminal justice system or impacted by community violence
- Experience managing programs with strong mental health and case management/wrap-around components
- Successful job development experience
- Staff management experience
- BA or BS degree and relevant experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep understanding of the credentialing process and standards
SALARY
$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience
