The Middle School Rosh Beit Midrash will lead engaging and thoughtful lessons that encourage critical thinking, open discussion, and a lifelong love of learning. We are looking for an individual who is knowledgeable in Judaic texts, is a role model of Orthodox Jewish observance and is also skilled in creating a vibrant classroom environment that celebrates learning and curiosity. Our Beit Midrash program consists of a select group of students with the required skill-set and motivation to be in this intensive and challenging Judaic studies program. This selective group is motivated and committed to textual study as the basis for growing their understanding and appreciation of their Jewish heritage. During these formative years in Middle School, the students will have the invaluable opportunity to engage closely with their studies under the guidance of the Middle School Rosh Beit Midrash . The Rosh Beit Midrash will provide not only academic instruction but also serve as a spiritual mentor, helping students to explore their Jewish identity and nurture their personal growth over the course of three transformative years. The middle school Beit Midrash curriculum introduces students to Mishnah and Talmud in addition to strengthening their Torah skills by introducing them to a variety of commentators. The Rosh Beit Midrash program has the opportunity and responsibility of teaching all Beit Midrash classes effectively looping with their students for three years. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Rosh Beit Midrash will teach their students for two periods each year (Tanach and Mishna/Talmud). This program is designed for the select few students who have the skill-set and motivation to be in this program. The Rosh Beit Midrash will nurture and grow a small group of motivated and capable children (inside and outside the classroom) throughout their MS years. The Rosh Beit Midrash aims to create a dynamic learning environment with innovative course objectives aligned to curriculum guidelines. The Rosh Beit Midrash will assess student progress by preparing and grading assessments, offering feedback to guide learning. They will encourage students to express themselves confidently and develop their skills. In the classroom, the Rosh Beit Midrash will maintain a positive atmosphere and serve as a trusted mentor for students facing challenges. Participation in parent conferences, professional development, and faculty meetings will enhance school collaboration, alongside leading Tefila, managing a club, and overseeing lunch breaks. Passion for educating teens: boys and girls. Excellent classroom management, differentiated instruction skills, and organization skills. As a collaborative working environment, must be a team player and be proficient with instructional technology. Flexibility and ability to work within an encouraging fast-paced environment where developing positive community relationships are critical. Experience teaching Judaic Studies in an Orthodox environment, advanced degree and/or Orthodox Rabbinic Ordination is preferred. Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree equivalent required.
