Principal Responsibilities:
The Development Coordinator manages the JCC's fundraising, stewardship and engagement efforts. Supervised by the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator works with executive staff, program staff and board members to create strategies to attract new donors, engage existing ones, provide stewardship for gifts of all sizes, and advance the organization's financial goals.
The Development Coordinator will also lead the effort to measure the impact of the agency and its programs. This includes developing data collection systems, training staff on best practices, analyzing and reporting on data, and translating results into marketing materials to further development efforts. This position requires in-person work daily. Our full-time employees receive 100% free childcare through our top-notch programs (early childhood, after-school, school vacation days and summer camp), as well as generous PTO and paid holidays. Relocation assistance is available.
Primary Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising
- Design and execute plans to conduct outreach and communication with JCC donors and potential donors.
- Create, implement and coordinate direct mail, social media and e-philanthropy campaigns in coordination with the marketing department.
- Manage and maintain donor database.
- Analyze data trends to identify strategies for donor engagement and inform communication efforts.
- Lead fundraising campaigns and special events, including:
- Participating in the design process for marketing materials.
- Managing the solicitation process.
- Maintaining personal contact on a regular basis with a portfolio of donors.
- Entering donations into the fundraising database, and generating donation acknowledgments.
- Tracking gifts and campaign progress.
- Work with program and administrative staff to ensure data is being accurately collected for use in grant reports, impact statements, and internal planning.
Program Evaluation
- Work with program staff to create and monitor data collection processes.
- Parse, process and evaluate data from a variety of sources to create metrics for success.
- Report on key agency indicators, and leverage data to drive decision making.
Financial & IT
- Log all pledges and donations in the JCC's fundraising software.
- Maintain donor note files and stewardship calendar.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience working for a not-for-profit agency or in the Jewish communal sphere.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Creative and analytical thinking, with the ability to independently identify problems and develop solutions.
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers and lay leaders.
- Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality of donors and internal work processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn new computer systems quickly. Experience with MailChimp and CRM systems a plus.
- Strong interest in personal and career development and continued learning.
Salary:
$35,000 - $45,000
