Overarching Goal: The position exists to support students with specific learning goals and collaborate with the Directors of Curriculum and Instruction, and Division Directors to implement division-wide strategies that support all learners.
Student Focused:
- For Students enrolled in the In-Class Support (ICS) program:
- Ensure each student is receiving an academic and personal growth plan
- Foster independence and confidence through targeted executive functioning skills exercises
- Create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing their challenges and achievements
- Document annual academic student growth
- For Support Teachers
- Supervise/Monitor support teachers/case managers
- Develop and implement teacher/case manager weekly expectations that support students in reaching their academic and personal growth plan goals
- Support teacher/case manager in providing weekly check-ins with the teacher/case managers regarding their support of each child
- Monitor teacher/case manager reports weekly to ensure students are on track for meeting his/her goals
- Providing professional development components for all teachers, 6-12
- Collaborate with the DCI’s to build all teachers’ skill sets to meet students’ needs based Learning Profiles and formative assessments
- Support case manager/teacher in how to work with the mainstream teacher to support all students in that classroom setting
Working with Admin and school counselors to Build Schedule of Support:
- Collaborate with DCIs and Division Directors to identify key support times and resources for students based on the individual students’ needs
- Develop a structured schedule that ensures consistent access to necessary support services that support student growth
- Adapt schedules based on changing student needs, ensuring flexible and responsive assistance
- Integrate academic flexible support opportunities, such as drop-in sessions or after-school help, for students needing extra assistance with the necessary personnel
- Use data from academic performance and behavioral assessments (through collaboration with stakeholders, i.e. classroom teacher, counselor, & parent) to prioritize high-impact support periods
- Serve as an integral part of the admin team in the context of instructional support for all students in need of differentiation
- Serve as school liaison regarding the incoming data/diagnosis for each child
- Work in collaboration with directors to design a schedule that reflects support for identified students, but also students that are struggling in specific content areas
- Develops program language, materials, curriculum, etc. for informational and marketing purposes
Parent Liaison and Weekly Email Report:
- Serve as a communication bridge between parents and the school to maintain transparency and engagement
- Monitor weekly updates on student progress, highlighting achievements and areas for growth
- Address parent concerns promptly that are not being addressed by case manager
- Facilitate meetings or conferences (bi-annually and quarterly, and as needed) with parents to discuss long-term goals and progress
- Provide parents with resources and strategies to support academic and behavioral goals at home
Parent and Child Skill-Building: (Parent University)
- Organize workshops and resources to equip parents with tools to support their child’s learning at home
- Implement programs to build essential life and academic skills in students, fostering independence
- Encourage a collaborative approach where parents and students work together on executive functioning skill development
- Offer personalized executive functioning skill-building plans that align with each child’s Personal Growth Plan objectives
- Develop a toolkit of resources for parents to use at home, including strategies for behavior management and academic reinforcement
Qualifications and Abilities - The following personal characteristics and skills are essential for successfully performing assigned duties.
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in education/related field
- At least 5 years in an administrative role in a 6-12 school environment
- Exemplary organizational planning and project management skills
- Exemplary communication skills
- Exemplary skills in multiple modalities of teaching and differentiation
