The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in partnership with the Montgomery County Jewish Educators Alliance is launching the
MoCo Teens Against Antisemitism Fellowship. The Fellowship will seek to directly combat antisemitism by mobilizing teens throughout Montgomery County to create social media and other peer-to-peer projects to address and reduce antisemitism in our community.
The Program Director (must be local to the DMV) will manage all aspects of the Fellowship and will report to the CESJDS Head of School and Chair of the Montgomery County Jewish Educators Alliance.
The Program Director Will Be Specifically Responsible For
- Implementing all aspects of the Fellowship to meet the grant funding guidelines including:
- Overall programmatic responsibility for all aspect of the Fellowship
- Branding the fellowship
- Recruiting applicants
- Reviewing applicants and suggesting award fellowships
- Collaborating/organizing a team of CESJDS Educators and educators from outside CESJDS to plan six workshops aimed at teaching the teens about antisemitism and how to design projects that will fight antisemitism on a peer-peer.
- Overseeing and mentoring the teen fellows as they develop their projects.
- Developing a rubric for project development and assessment.
- Planning and implementing an EOY Summit where teens present their projects,
- Design and implement pre-and post-assessments for fellows regarding their participation in the fellowship.
Compensation: $8,000 (this is a contract position)
Time Commitment: 5.5 hours/week average (160 total hours)

This project is being funded by the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington DC and the Natan Fund for an initial year. The Project Director position is funded exclusively through the grant and is limited currently to the school year 2024-25. We anticipate the Program Director will begin their role in October of 2024 and conclude by April of 2024.
