Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Aquatics Manager to oversee the operations of our aquatics staff, programs and facilities. The Aquatics Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and development of all participants, managing a team of aquatics staff, and maintaining high standards of facility maintenance and program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Staff Management:
- Supervise lifeguards and support personnel.
- Partner with the Operations Manager to develop staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all programs and facility operations.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to promote professional development and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Monitor swim programs throughout the day, making staff adjustments as necessary to meet community safety and operational needs.
- Safety and Facility Management:
- Ensure the aquatics facility adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures to protect patrons and staff.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Coordinate with maintenance and facility departments to address repairs and facility improvements in a timely manner.
- Customer Service and Community Engagement:
- Provide excellent customer service to all members, guests, and participants, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Handle complaints and concerns on the pool deck in a timely or immediate fashion when possible.
- Make appropriate referrals and recommendations upon request.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with aquatics staff, other departments, and members.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aquatics management or a related field.
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid are preferred. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certifications are also preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a humid and warm environment.
