Our
Human Resources (HR) Coordinator position is a crucial member of our dynamic HR team, performing general transactional day-to-day HR operations in a manner that maintains a productive workflow and provides vital services to the HR team, managers, and staff across the organization. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR Coordinator supports the department in all aspects of its operations, providing quality administrative support with a keen attention to detail, a warm and welcoming presence, agility and a continuous improvement approach.
As the initial point of contact for employees, this role is responsible for triaging requests for HR services and providing initial timely responses to emails, calls, and service requests in our people/service-focused environment. Interacting with all levels of employees and building strong relationships with all stakeholders, the HR Coordinator ensures that employees and managers receive accurate and clear information and have a coordinated HR experience aligned with our values, established best practices, and policies. Deploying a balance of flexibility, graciousness, results orientation, initiative, and discipline, the HR Coordinator primarily ensures transactions occur timely and effectively, and enthusiastically participates in the HR operations to organize a wide variety of HR services, procedures, and special projects as assigned.

Supporting the HR team, this position strives to foster efficient and effective operations and workflows and contributes to administrative process improvements. This position owns the administrative processing of workers' compensation claims and employment verifications, supports seasonal and high volume hiring activity and onboarding, supports benefits enrollment and cobra processing, and various record-keeping and payroll tasks.
The HR Coordinator will work closely with the Director and other HR team members to contribute to the successful execution of several strategic priorities (initiatives and projects). Experience, skill set, area of interest, adept knowledge, and other strengths will determine project assignments. Projects include co-creating and implementing an employee exit interview and survey program, a best-in-class onboarding program and Welcome/Benefits Orientation, a New Manager Orientation/Onboarding Program, and assisting with updating and revamping our employee policies and procedures handbooks. Our primary object is to strengthen HR services, practices and operations fostering excellent services so each employee thrives in their employment with JCC Greater Boston.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position eligible for overtime. Offering a comprehensive benefits package, a supportive work environment and a competitive starting pay rate of $23.00 - $30.00 per hour. Requirements
Education and Experience: The position requires a college degree in business administration, communications, Human Resources, or a related field and 1-4 years of progressive professional office/business experience. Human Resources certification and demonstrated working knowledge of/success in a non-profit environment are a plus. Experience or knowledge of HRIS, payroll, or benefits administration systems/platforms is helpful but not required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC's discretion to meet minimum criteria.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to focus and produce in a busy, dynamic and sometimes noisy environment involving multiple tasks and priorities.
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds (supplies, files, archive boxes etc.); able to bend, crouch, reach to manage physical personnel files
- This is standard office work frequently using a computer as a desk; requires the ability to sit/stand for long periods of time at a desk
- This may have the option for hybrid work with some essential duties may be performed remotely, while most requires in-person/on-site presence 3-4 days per week
