Position Overview: The Front Office & Rabbinic Assistant will manage the day-to-day operations of the synagogue’s front office, serving as the first point of contact for members, visitors, and staff. In addition to front office responsibilities, this role will provide dedicated administrative support to the synagogue’s two rabbis, assisting with schedules, correspondence, and office management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front Office Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors and members, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front office environment.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Manage office supplies, equipment, and building access needs.
- Coordinate office communication and workflow, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Rabbinic Assistance:
- Provide administrative support to the rabbis, including managing their schedules, setting up meetings, and coordinating appointments.
- Assist with rabbinic correspondence, preparing documents, and handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Help coordinate and schedule worship services and lifecycle events (weddings, funerals, etc.) as needed.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Support general administrative duties such as filing, database management, and record keeping.
- Assist with synagogue communications, including newsletters and event promotions, in coordination with the Communications Manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience in office management or administrative support, preferably in a religious or non-profit setting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
- Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters.
- Strong member-centric sense of customer service with the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or relevant experience in organizational advancement
Hourly Rate Range for Front Office & Rabbinic Assistant: $20.00 -$25.00 an hour (Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.) The position includes Health Benefit(s) and 403(b) following a 90-day new employee probationary period.
