Position Summary
The Agency Development Officer position presents a unique opportunity to work within the Development Department at the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati (JFC) and also serve a dual role as the lead development professional for a partner agency, Jewish Family Service (JFS). The Agency Development Officer will drive the fundraising efforts for JFS, working with its Development Committee and CEO to ensure successful funding of critical programs and services. This position will also be an integral part of the JFC Development Team and is will participate in fundraising efforts to benefit the JFC’s Annual Campaign, as well. The Agency Development Officer will aid in the execution of key organization events throughout the year. Additionally, the Agency Development Officer will identify, cultivate, and develop donors and leaders and connect them to the Jewish community. This position will report to the Director of Annual Giving at JFC.
Essential Functions & Responsibilites
- Work directly with Jewish Family Service CEO, Board Members, and volunteers, including overseeing the JFS Development Committee, in order to maximize impact and fundraising
- Manage all aspects of the development strategy and goals for Jewish Family Service including fundraising-related marketing efforts and fundraising-related events
- Personally manage a portfolio of donor prospects including their ongoing stewardship and cultivation
- Secure funding through face to face conversations or mailing efforts for both Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and Jewish Family Service
- Encourage directed giving through the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati to all eligible 501c3 organizations to elevate partnerships locally and globally
- Coordinate with JFS staff responsible for data entry, gift processing, and reporting through the Bloomerang (donor CRM software)
- Other duties as assigned
Candidates Should Have The Following Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, business development or significant involvement in the Jewish community.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and follow-up.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to set goals, tasks and timetables and manage workflow.
- Must be organized, detailed and have ability to multi-task.
- Entrepreneurial, can-do attitude.
- Strong event planning skills preferred.
- Some early morning meetings, evenings and weekend meetings and events are required.
- Ability to work in and build strong collaborative team, both internally and externally.
- Commitment to the mission of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Jewish customs and practices.
