Position Overview:
Jewish National Fund-USA seeks a Director to conduct fundraising in Northern California and the Reno/Tahoe Area. The Director will be a respected, professional community leader and collaborate with other colleagues to ensure the success of the annual campaign. The Director's passion for the Jewish Homeland - - coupled with a decisive and confident leadership style - - will inspire regional board members and other donors to support our mission to build a brighter future for the land and people of Israel. The Director will report to the Executive Director of the Northern California & Pacific Northwest regions.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate, solicit, thank and steward donors from your portfolio of approximately 250 existing donors.
- Develop meaningful, warm and ongoing professional relationships with donors and prospects.
- Identify and research donor prospects.
- Confer with donors and prospects regarding their connection to Israel and the work of Jewish National Fund-USA via phone, email, Zoom and in-person meetings.
- Collaborate with regional board members to leverage connections and introduce you to new prospective donors.
- Use Jewish National Fund-USA's Salesforce database to manage and track donor interactions and information.
- Plan and host Israeli affiliates and arrange for them to meet donors at private meetings or speaking engagements.
- Prepare and conduct board meetings.
- Focus on attaining and exceeding Northern California's annual fundraising goal.
- Recruit participants for missions to Israel and Jewish National Fund-USA's Global Conference for Israel.
- Attend other Jewish community events, some of which will be held during evenings or weekends.
- Lead trips to Israel.
Qualifications:
- A bold and unwavering passion for Israel. Recent first-hand experience in Israel or with Israel-related causes is strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive responsibility and demonstrated achievements in fundraising and/or private sector sales.
- A valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Demonstrated public speaking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A high-level of comfort using programs such as Zoom and Office Suite and CRM systems like Salesforce.
- A willingness to attend events and meetings on weeknights and weekends.
- A willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Exceptional networking, interpersonal, and community-building skills.
- Successful experience working with or serving on nonprofit boards and/or committees is highly valued.
- Familiarity with the Jewish communal landscape of the San Francisco Bay Area is highly desirable.
- Superior problem-solving and multi-tasking ability and outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
