Community Administrator
St John’s Wood United Synagogue is a prestigious, welcoming & vibrant modern orthodox community founded in 1876, located between central & north-west London. We have a growing membership approaching 2,000 members & our community is very busy with a broad range of religious, cultural, social, educational & welfare activities. We also have an on-site banqueting suite.
We seek an experienced individual who will be a key member of the Synagogue’s Administration and Operations Team & will support & deputise for the Community Manager. The individual will also be responsible for driving change in our processes & systems to optimise efficiency & effectiveness; playing a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of our office & the Synagogue. The Community Administrator will have regular contact & will support the broad Synagogue team of office staff, Rabbinic team, Kindergarten, Hebrew School, volunteers & Honorary Officers.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an administrative role and a track record as a successful agent of change. The individual will have strong customer servicing skills and exceptional attention to detail. Additionally the candidate will have a deep knowledge of Jewish customs and practices, and also familiarity with a range of computing systems. The role will include working as an individual as well as collaborating with team members and a broad range of stakeholders.
