Herman Coliver Locus Architecture is accepting applications for a Job Captain / 3-5 years experience
HCLA, as a practice, is unusual. By design, 100% of our clients are community-based. Our work is focused in two distinct realms: We balance the ardor and rigor of designing multi-family, supportive housing with wrap-around social services for those most in need (low-income families and seniors, transitional-aged youth, people with disabilities and those experiencing homelessness), with the exhilaration of designing transcendent and exquisitely detailed sacred spaces and their attendant uses, largely, though not exclusively, within the Jewish community. We are a team of 14 design professionals, nationally recognized for our human-centered, sustainable, mission-driven work. We are most distinguished as a civic-minded, community-oriented, award-winning practice.
This year, we're actively working on the following projects:
- An intergenerational master plan for supportive independent senior housing, child care & adult day health care on the Laguna Honda campus in SF to be followed by architectural design of these facilities. Conceptual Design
- 136 supportive housing apartments in SF Mission neighborhood. CA Phase
- 175 apartments for low-income seniors with a community serving banquet hall in SF’s Chinatown. Design Development
- 56 supportive apartments in San Rafael. Schematic Design
- 50 apartments of affordable family housing in Half Moon Bay. Conceptual Design
- A synagogue renovation in San Francisco. Schematic Design
- 118 apartments of affordable family housing in Fremont. Design Development
