The Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care (“Center”), housed within JFNA, is a leading voice in the U.S. on the person-centered, trauma informed (PCTI) approach and support services for Holocaust survivors, diverse older adults with a history of trauma (e.g., immigrants, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals), and their family caregivers. We advance PCTI programming nationwide by issuing grants to local Jewish and non-Jewish social services agencies to implement innovative projects, providing technical assistance and capacity building to subgrantees and the aging network at large, and advocating on behalf of the needs of vulnerable older adults.

Position Summary:

The Project Manager, Programs and Training provides program oversight, technical support, and strategic guidance to subgrantees implementing person-centered, trauma-informed (PCTI) supportive services for Holocaust survivors, older adults with a history of trauma, and family caregivers throughout the United States. In addition, the Project Manager builds capacity of aging services professionals and volunteers to care for older adults with a history of trauma and their family caregivers by coordinating national webinars and the Training Workshop, drafting conference presentation proposals, and leading trainings.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical assistance and capacity-building related to subgrantees’ programming by identifying problems, proposing recommendations, and implementing solutions to rectify issues and ensure grant compliance while collaborating with subgrantee staff and JFNA’s finance and evaluation teams. As the subgrantee’s primary contact, responsible for overseeing and monitoring multiple sites and programs including but not limited to onboarding and training new subgrantees, conducting site visits, reviewing and evaluating subgrantee reports, providing feedback, leading informational group calls and individualized quarterly monitoring calls, etc.
Write, edit, and review reports to funders, the Center’s Request for Proposal (RFP), application and reporting templates, grant proposals, memos to subgrantees, and general correspondence to the Aging Network.
Design and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize Center efficiency, effectiveness, and organizational capacity.
Manage and support various Center projects including training webinars and a biennial national Training Workshop.
Analyze programmatic trends and share promising practices with aging service professionals by presenting at conferences and on webinars.
Support the Center’s Request for Proposals (RFP) process including implementing the RFP, reviewing applications and scoring process, and issuing awards.
Create and/or revise reporting templates on JotForm, Foundant Technologies, and other software programs.
Track, maintain, and analyze trends in reporting data.
Participate in staff meetings, retreats, site visits, and conferences.
Other assignments, as requested.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of relevant experience in the grant-making, nonprofit, or government sector preferred, preferably in the delivery of social services or in the provision of technical assistance to social service agencies
Bachelor’s degree required
Detail-oriented, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Professional self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong written, interpersonal, collaboration, and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience developing and streamlining systems, and providing technical support to and oversight of programs, agencies, subgrantees and/or staff
Experience providing case management or social work services preferred
Experience serving family caregivers preferred
Interest in aging and trauma and a commitment to helping Holocaust survivors, older adults with a history of trauma, and family caregivers
Ability to occasionally travel domestically

While the employee may work out of JFNA offices in New York City, NY or Washington, DC, the position may be hybrid or fully remote depending on the applicant’s location. Funding for this position is contingent upon grant funding.

Salary Range: $60,000-65,000
