Responsibilities
The Director of Institutional Advancement will report to the Head of School, sit on the school’s senior administrative team, partner with the communications team, work closely with Heschel’s professional and lay leaders, and supervise the development team. Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive short-term and long-term fundraising strategies and plans that include prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, planned giving, and stewardship of prospective and current donors including parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, community friends, and foundations;
- Partnering with Heschel professionals and lay leaders on strategic planning initiatives;
- Working with the Head of School and Board of Trustees to ensure alignment among future plans for development of Heschel’s educational program, strategies for fundraising, and budgetary planning;
- In partnership with the Director of Communications and Community Engagement, developing and implementing community events and programs, as well as events and programs with partner organizations, to strengthen communal ties within the Heschel school community (e.g., with parents, grandparents, and alumni) as well as between Heschel and the larger communities of which it is a part.
The ideal candidate will bring meaningful experience in development, with a proven ability to lead successful efforts in major gift fundraising, campaign management, and donor relations. We are seeking a collaborative and inspiring leader who combines strategic vision with a passion for building relationships and strengthening connections within our community.
