What You'll Do
Besides have the best summer yet?! You'll have fun and get paid for it! Ultimately, you're doing your job if the camper’s safety and well-being are your priority at all times, while providing care and comfort to those who may need it. Take a look below for some specific responsibilities and expectations of this position:
- Provide excellent customer service and create a warm, welcoming environment for all children, families, members, guests, and staff.
- Work with Director to respond to/address needs and concerns of parents, families and staff.
- Answer telephone calls and emails and respond to questions regarding our programs/camp, enrollment and schedule tours for prospective families, meet the needs of current parents and direct all other calls accordingly.
- Support Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director in staff and child file maintenance ensuring required paperwork is turned in by each person and fielded appropriately.
- Create and regularly update schedules, program rosters, attendance and other important lists/documents (e.g., allergies, parent notes).
- Perform administrative duties for the department, which includes but is not limited to, scheduling, creating and sending out letters and emails, scanning, photocopying, printing pictures/documentation.
- Perform other job duties, functions, responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor or other member of Mandel JCC’s Leadership team.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Has strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Keeps supervisors informed and included on all serious camp-related matters.
- Shows flexibility to “jump in” wherever needed.
- Ability to speak fluent English, understand it as well as read and write.
- Ability to commit to the assigned work schedule.
- Shows a positive attitude and acts excited to work at camp.
Special Requirements And Physical Demands
- Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 75 lbs), bending stooping, stretching, squatting and sitting.
- Effective and clear communication between campers, staff, and leadership team
- Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation
- Occasional exposure to outside elements (i.e. sun exposure, heat, humidity, rain)
- Tolerates loud noises such as music, large gatherings, cheering, etc.
