PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Serves in a key role on the Finance & Accounting team tasked with managing, enhancing, and improving financial operations and systems administration. Works closely with finance, technology, and compliance leadership, as well as business owners and decision makers in the organization, to optimize business processes, policies, and workflows that require financial interaction. The ideal candidate will be a pro-active problem-solver who identifies opportunities to improve workflow within and beyond the finance team, looks for efficiencies, ensures procedures are established and formalized, and makes connections between finance and ADL operating departments to eliminate operational roadblocks.
Responsibilities
Financial Policies and Procedures:
- This position will serve as the chief gatekeeper for all policies and procedures related to finance and accounting.
- Collaboratively develops, codifies, and communicates financial policies and guidelines.
- Coordinates training throughout the organization as appropriate.
- Evaluates and implements policies, procedures, techniques and protocols.
Banking Operations:
- Leads and assists with banking projects and initiatives.
- Monitors transactions, performs transaction research for finance team as needed, and ensures data integrity including identification of potential fraud.
- Supports all teams on transaction research and daily deposits reporting.
- Supports reconciliation of banking transactions to the general ledger
Financial Systems and Process Improvement:
- Serves as the primary administrator for all financial systems, ensuring proper functionality and ensuring coordination between finance, departments, and technology.
- Investigates technical problems and initiates corrective action.
- Establishes and maintains proper control environments.
- Identifies gaps in operations effectiveness and develops workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Works collaboratively to gather business requirements, as needed, and operationalizes necessary enhancements, configuration and/or system and process updates.
- Drives accountability through development and monitoring of metrics.
- Builds and maintains productive intra-departmental work relationships to optimize operations.
Qualifications

- Ability to document business processes, requirements, and create functional design specifications.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work Experience:
- 7+ years financial operations experience, with responsibilities for process management, problem-solving, and interacting with varied stakeholders
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field, or relevant work experience required.
Work Environment:
- ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office
Compensation:
- This position has a salary range of $92,000 to $120,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, NY. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
