Community Security Service (CSS) is seeking a passionate, ethical, and confident leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This person will provide the overarching vision, leadership, and strategic direction for CSS’s Board of Directors and staff.
We are looking for a leader who can expand the organization significantly over the next 3-5 years while broadening its impact within the U.S. Jewish community. The position requires a leader with a unique blend of strong fundraising capabilities, senior-level leadership experience, and a deep understanding of security, preferably including its role in safeguarding synagogues and the community. The role demands an entrepreneurial mindset and knowledge of the Jewish community.
The ideal candidate will have experience building teams and scaling operations at a non-profit organization and leading a corporate for-profit organization.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead an organization with a deep commitment to protecting and developing the Jewish community.
About Community Security Service
CSS was the first U.S. organization to introduce and implement a mindset long held by Jewish communities around the world: Protecting Jewish life and the Jewish way of life starts with Jews taking ownership of their own security. We are the preeminent community-based Security organization in the United States. CSS has trained over eight thousand community members and volunteers.
Starting with a handful of congregants protecting a New York City synagogue in 2007, CSS has grown to become a national network, with thousands of trained volunteers protecting hundreds of Jewish events, institutions, and synagogues across all denominations. We are currently the largest volunteer Security organization in the world.
Our members – affiliated and unaffiliated – represent the rich diversity of the American Jewish community.
