PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Events Manager is a key team member on ADL’s Donor Experience Events team, providing hands-on management for assigned fundraising and engagement events. This role is responsible for managing all event logistics, coordinating event programs and materials, and ensuring each event delivers on its strategic goals and KPIs. The Manager will also directly support the Events team to execute more complex events, managing assigned aspects as requested. Flexibility, collaboration, and creative thinking are essential in this role.
Responsibilities
Primary:
- Plan, organize and execute fundraising and engagement events including but not limited to fundraising dinners/galas, targeted donor receptions, stewardship and cultivation gatherings, trade- and industry-focused events, etc.
- Track and report on event-related fundraising and engagement priorities and metrics.
- Manage event budgets and negotiated vendor contracts.
- Coordinate ticketing and registration; oversee call event-related logistics.
- Manage speaker, talent and honoree logistics and communications.
- Manage marketing and outreach deliverables for assigned events including email, mailed, and personal outreach.
- Coordinate the design and production of all print and electronic fundraising and event deliverables.
- Coordinate clear on message event programs/runs of show, ensuring all relevant parties have provided input and final programs are cleared/approved.
- Serve as a point of communication for external event contacts and stakeholders.
- Distribute photos and follow-up deliverables for post-event wrap up.
- Contribute to event and fundraising strategy meetings and stay current on internal positioning and substantive external developments in ADL’s mission areas.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Strong project management, organizational and administrative skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver successful events.
- Clear and open communicator, both written and verbal, with effective presentation skills and impeccable attention to detail required.
- Creative design sensibilities and basic experience in design software (Adobe Photoshop, Canva) preferred.
- Ability to center the strategic “why” of the event, ensuring all elements align to deliver on that promise.
- Technical competence required. Working familiarity and comfort with event platforms (Cvent, Neon/Rallybound, Classy), CRM database systems (Salesforce), virtual collaboration tech (Zoom, Slack, Box), marketing reporting/analytics functions essential. Comfort learning and utilizing new technology absolutely essential.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task to complete projects on deadline in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort in working with colleagues remotely across the country essential.

Work Experience:
- Three years of hands-on special event management experience required.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and working with cross-functional teams.
- Nonprofit and fundraising experience preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Work Environment:
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary. Travel will be required to manage and attend events.
- ADL is a hybrid environment, though this role may be performed remotely.
Compensation:
- This position has a salary range of $54,000 to $85,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
