JPlay is a program of the JCC with a division offering babysitting services to members and guests, offering piece-of-mind while they work out or attend programming at the J, knowing their children will be safe, nurtured and entertained in our fully-equipped babysitting room. These services are offered for up to 2 hours per visit.

SUMMARY:
The Babysitters are responsible for the care, supervision and feeding of children ages three months to five years of age. Engaging play supplies (including but not limited to books, “real life” toy sets, and arts & crafts) are provided by the JCC.
There will be one Babysitter on staff at some times, and multiple babysitters on staff at other times.
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- The hours are 7:45am-12:00pm, Sundays through Fridays.
- Shifts may be split between multiple staff (i.e., 7:45-11:00am and 9:00am-12:00pm) where there is partial overlap during busier hours.
- The substitute Babysitters will be called in on an “as needed” basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Warm and loving disposition.
- Previous experience Ability to manage and engage a group of babies, toddlers, and children simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Understanding of the Orthodox Jewish community and related customs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Record the babysitting passes and keeping track of who enters and leaves the room and when they do so.
- Communicate well with the parents and children.
- Happily sit on the floor and play with, distract, comfort and keep the children happy.
- Keep the toys and books clean and well maintained.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- General clean-up of the room and toys daily.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
This employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
