SUMMARY:
Registered Nurse or Certified Medication Training (CMT) to provide excellent medical care to campers aged 4-15 as a part of J Camps an ACA Accredited Day Camp. Opportunity to use medical skills in a fun setting with wonderful staff perks!
Length of Position:
- Attend certification trainings if applicable
- Attend three Leadership meetings prior to summer
- Attend Camp Orientation
- Set-up of Medical Office prior to camp
- Ability to fulfill full-time hours between June 16 – August 22 nd
WHO YOU ARE:
- Run basic medical training for J Camps staff
- Administer Basic First Aid
- Manage and administer medication as needed for campers with allergies, asthma, diabetes, and other medical conditions
- Organize and manage daily epi-pen distribution to and from the medical office.
- Administer Medications, Maintain Medical Records and Documentation
- Manage weekly medical reports and produce reports for all staff and groups.
- Communicate regularly with parents, campers and staff as needed
- Assist with snack food preparation
- Heavily participate in meeting the medical needs of Inclusion Campers
- Ensure that facility is kept clean and safe, so that children are in a safe and comfortable environment.
- Ensure that campers know and follow safety procedures
- Follow all medical MD State license protocols and ACA standards
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Experience at summer camp or similar environment preferred
- Degree in Nursing or Certified Medication Training (CMT) required if not a registered Nurse with up to date certifications.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with youth
- Willingness to follow and give directions
- Strong leadership and organization skills
- Willingness to work as a part of a team
- Excellent Interpersonal Skill
- Great Attitude
PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend time sitting and using a computer, laptop or phone. The employee may also be required to frequently be on their feet for periods of time.
The work environment is usually fast paced. This job requires high energy and interaction with staff as well as campers.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Benefit & Perks: J Camps offers a complimentary family membership to the Jewish Community Center from June through December 2025. Discounts are also available on summer camp up to one camper for free and any additional camper(s) 50% off.
