Overview
WJCS is currently seeking a full-time Admitting Specialist to join our team in Peekskill, NY. Reporting to the Admitting Director, the Admitting Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the intake and referral process for individuals and agencies seeking mental health services at WJCS. The compensation for this hybrid position is $46,000.
Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the intake and referral process, scheduling initial intake appointments for prospective clients and/or agencies.
- Verify and obtain benefits and pre-certification information from insurance companies.
- Register insurance and pre-certification details for new clients in the electronic health records system.
- Enter and adjust on-going authorizations, co-pay, and deductible information for existing clients.
- Troubleshoot issues related to insurance authorization, recertification, and coordination of benefits across multiple systems.
If You Have The Following
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- An Associate’s or a Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field is preferred, however an applicant with experience and a High School Diploma will be considered.
- Prior experience in an office setting, particularly with managed care.
- Strong understanding of administrative processes with mental health or health care settings.
- Proficient knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing policies.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus!
