YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM SPECIALIST, JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE
POSITION SUMMARY:
Jewish Family Service of Cincinnati is seeking a Program Specialist to join our growing Youth Mental Health Services team. The mission of the Youth Mental Health program is to address the unmet mental health needs of youth, teens, and young adults through counseling, coordination of care, and psychoeducational programming.
This position, in collaboration with the Youth Mental Health Program Manager, works across youth and young adult facing organizations to create and execute psychoeducational programming. This position provides logistical and administrative support for relevant programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- In collaboration with Youth Mental Health team members, support and contribute to the research, development, coordination, implementation, and execution of psychoeducational programming relevant to youth mental health.
- Provide logistical support relevant to psychosocial programming, including scheduling, securing space, managing access to technology, providing outreach to target populations, acquisition and distribution of program materials, program set up/take down, marketing collaboration, and program oversight.
- Collaborate with Cincinnati Jewish community organizations, professionals, and funders to provide administrative and logistical support for community programming initiatives including community wide workshops and psychoeducational programs, Mental Health First Aid certification training, and other large-scale events, as identified.
- Support data collection and contribute program data to grant applications and reports.
- Solicit feedback and guidance from the Program Manager and other personnel as needed.
- Assist to build and maintain annual program planning efforts and maintain a calendar of events, in coordination with calendars maintained by JFS and the Cincinnati Jewish community.
- Support all Youth Mental Health marketing efforts, including outreach and building relationships with community partners.
- Participate in the evaluation of program effectiveness and client satisfaction.
- Participate in staff meetings and 1:1 supervision with Program Manager.
- Collaborate with other staff, departments, and external agencies.
- Attend relevant training, local conferences, and workshops.
- Perform other relevant duties, as necessary.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in education, social work, human services, or other related fields required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in program planning and implementation. Candidates with at least 1 year of experience working with youth, young adults and their families, in education, youth engagement, and/or mental health settings preferred.
- Must have a cultural knowledge of key populations served.
- Must be committed to destigmatizing mental health.
- Must have strong engagement and outreach skills.
- Must be an effective communicator and be able to assist in meeting facilitation.
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Must be proficient with use of a computer, Microsoft Office, and related products.
- May be required to work flexible schedules. Some evening and weekend hours as needed based on community programming needs.
- $27.11-$36.69/HR based on experience and a 37.5 hour work week
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires walking, standing, and sitting in office and community settings.
- This position requires the use of an insured vehicle.
