Position Summary
The Activities Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, and implementation of recreational activities for older adults. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, experienced, and creative in order to provide engaging and enjoyable activities for our residents.
Part time, approximately 28 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Must have compassion and desire to work with the older population
- Leads a variety of activities: one-to-one and group, outside and/or in the Activity Center
- Implements activities and ensures they are engaging and enjoyable
- Assists with the planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of diversified, resident-centered activities
- Assist in coordinating special events and outings
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, must be able to follow instructions and direction, interact with participants of varying backgrounds and abilities, and remain cheerful and calm in stressful situations
- Assist in maintaining records and documentation related to activities
- Communicates with residents, families, and staff regarding activities
- Maintains privacy and confidentiality of participants in accordance with HIPPA regulations
- Maintains Activity area and supplies in a neat and orderly manner.
- Be willing to learn and grow
Candidates Should Have The Following Skills And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in recreational activities or related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies
