Reporting directly to the Chief Talent Officer, the Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Specialist is responsible for overall recruitment, overseeing onboarding and onboarding processes, and leading the Ambassador and Internship programs. This role is responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring qualified candidates for various positions within the organization and ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience for new hires. After a six month training period in-person, this position can be hybrid -- working up to 40% time remotely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment & Selection
- Manage full life cycle recruitment (post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.) and serve as a business partner in identifying best talent recruitment strategies.
- Consults with department leaders to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications desired for the specified vacant position(s).
- Consult data and records to identify and select potential candidates for vacant positions.
- Collect and analyze data to maintain a current understanding of fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies to continually build a diverse pool of top talent across all functions and levels within the organization.
- Craft success profiles for critical roles in the organization to guide managers in identifying best hiring practices and talent development strategies.
- Responsible for all talent pipeline initiatives including proactive recruiting efforts, college recruitment and career fairs.
- Manage the selection process of candidates by coordinating feedback from all parties of the hiring process and act as the facilitator and driver of the formal recruitment process.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
Onboarding, Training & Development
- Own the new hire onboarding experience ensuring that we are setting our employees up for success with their role, team and organization.
- Partner with managers and employees to identify, develop and facilitate training and development needs.
- Administer the background check process for all new hires and ensure compliance with all JCC standards and policies.
- Conduct orientation presentations and training as necessary.
Attraction & Retention Programs
- Continue to build and maintain the Ambassador program to build a culture of belonging for all new hires.
- Enhance and oversee an effective Internship program to attract early talent.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for our culture & values, while also providing a constant pulse on the needs of team members.
Other
- Prepare reports for management review to include HR metrics, headcount reports, etc.
- Provide project support for a variety of Human Resources programs and processes.
- Perform the MOD duties as assigned on a weekly and annual basis.
- Actively promotes and practices the organization’s Positive Rules of Communication.
- Assume responsibilities as assigned for JCC special events.
- Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements (KSAs)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in conducting interviews.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, and other related employment laws and guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment regulations, compensation and benefits, training and development and organizational planning.
- Proven ability to write reports, business correspondence, personnel policies and procedure manuals.
- Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and report data in an accurate, timely and meaningful manner.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues at various levels of the organization.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience required.
- At least 2 – 4 years of recruitment related experience required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
