The administrative assistant is the supportive force behind what we do at GJC, and we are currently seeking someone exceptional to take this role. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills, strong computer skills, and impeccable attention to detail. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in an office environment performing administrative tasks and supporting supervisors and colleagues. An ability to multitask, manage complex data structures, and meet changing deadlines is essential to the position. The right person for this position will be open to learning about Jewish religion, culture, and identity. You will be fully engaged and busy from the first day, and we promise a work environment full of appreciation, laughter, and camaraderie.
Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)
- 100% of this work is done onsite (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM)
- Professional administrative and clerical support for multiple departments
- Data entry, file maintenance, and process incoming and outgoing mail
- Answer multiple phone lines and monitor secure front entrance
- Replenish and maintain office and departmental supplies
- Oversee maintenance of office equipment including computers, phones, and other machines
- Respond to in-person, phone, and email inquiries and requests from staff, members, visitors, and the greater community
- Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, and emails
- Liaison between staff and IT support
- Complete other departmental projects and tasks as needed
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- College degree preferred, or equivalent experience in administrative support
- 3+ years of hands-on administrative support
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of the Adobe Suite and Canva is a plus
- Superb accuracy rates in maintaining data structures
- Superb daily task completion rates while tracking concurring short-term and long-term projects.
- High emotional intelligence and empathy are a plus
- Exceptional customer service, writing, and communication skills.
- Handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
Hourly compensation is $23.07 ($48,000/annually). Benefits include medical/dental and generous paid vacation and personal days. Offers an exceptional on-site preschool with 90% employee discount.
