The Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center is currently seeking a highly motivated Fitness Desk Coordinator to join our team. The Fitness Coordinator will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive fitness environment while helping individuals improve their overall health and well-being by managing the scheduling of Fitness Desk staff and assisting in the coordination of programs and events throughout the JCC.
Role And Responsibilities
- Creating and managing staff schedules for all Fitness Desk Staff
- Regularly covering at least 4 shifts per week for the Fitness Desk
- Responsible for providing team member training as needed.
- Assist in monitoring daily operations to identify issues and ensure smooth service
- Assist in coordination of JCC programs, including but not limited to JCC Camp programs, special programming, Engagement and Enrichment classes, etc.
- Ensure the “JCC Denver Experience” for members and guests by maintaining the standards set by the JCC Denver’s Mission Statement/Values, Standards and Expectations.
- Adhere to policies of the facility and JCC Denver.
- Report any incident or accident to the appropriate manager.
- Submit all paperwork and financial reporting, when applicable, in accordance with JCC Denver policy.
- Become knowledgeable about the facility and its amenities to communicate effectively with members and/or guests.
- Help ensure the facility is accessed only by actual members and/or guests and that it is always safe and secure.
- Greet each guest with a smile and direct eye contact.
- Go the extra mile for members and guests by offering to make reservations, find directions, look up phone numbers, etc.
- Use time efficiently throughout the shift by checking equipment, locker rooms, inventory, etc. Ensure proper coverage when it is necessary to leave the area.
- Inform co-workers of pertinent information at the end of the shift and ensure proper communication of information across shifts as needed. Maintain and update staff communication book.
- Inform the appropriate manager of any member, guest, or facility issues.
- Enroll members and guests in programs. Make reservations for spa services and personal training when applicable.
- Receive payments for goods and services and properly account for the money. When applicable, reconcile daily sales, deposits, and receipts.
- Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain the facility and prepare for special events.
- This role will perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High School diploma required;
- Excellent customer service and skills.
- Previous experience handling money.
- Excellent communication, customer service skills, and work ethic.
- Efficient, well-organized, and able to handle various duties simultaneously.
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
- Strong team player.
- Proficient in appropriate computer skills and office equipment, including use of Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Physical/Mental Requirements (ADA Compliance)
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, cope with stress, adapt to and stay alert in a business environment
- In order to perform the essential duties of the job, the employee must be able to speak, hear, see and walk more than 2 miles each day.
- Standing and sitting on the floor
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Full-Time employees of the JCC are considered benefits eligible.
The JCC contributes a portion of medical, dental, and vision plan premiums. The JCC proudly pays for 100% of Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage for benefits eligible employees. We also provide additional voluntary benefit plans.
The JCC has a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age with no waiting period. The JCC matches 50% of employee contributions, up to 3%, on a 5-year vesting schedule.
Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with Colorado Health Families & Workplaces Act. First-year, benefits-eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours of Paid Time Off in their first year of service.
