PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Manager, National Affairs, will focus on project management, research and analysis, and program development for a broad range of National Affairs core projects, including government relations, education advocacy, and community engagement. They will also assist the SVP, National Affairs and the National Affairs VP and respective teams with minimal budgeting, contracting, expense tasks and meeting coordination.
Responsibilities
Primary:
- Independently develop long- and short-term project plans, set key milestones, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Coordinate the design, implement and manage core multi-team projects aligned with National Affairs core initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes using data visualization tools and dashboards.
- Research, analyze, and support the drafting of policy positions on issues critical to National Affairs.
- Provide written and oral briefings to senior leadership.
- Represent National Affairs at meetings, conferences, and other events as needed.
- Provide oversight of budgeting processes, contract approvals, vendor management, and personnel onboarding, in collaboration with finance and other teams.
- Serve as liaison between administrative and managerial staff as needed and provide training on processes and software.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the organization’s goals.

Skills:
- Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills – possess the ability to prioritize tasks and plan work activities to use time in the most efficient, effective manner.
- Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Airtable, and Salesforce).
- Analytical, solutions mindset and customer service orientation.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task to complete projects.
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-up.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Several years’ experience in policy development, advocacy, or program management in a mission-driven organization.
- Administrative support experience is a big plus.
- Experience with legislative and regulatory research is strongly preferred.
EDUCATION:
- An associate’s degree or equivalent experience is required
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.
COMPENSATION:
- This position has a salary range of $42,000-$75,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
