PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Director of Partnerships and Initiatives, Center on Extremism (COE), will play a leading role in the Center’s leadership team, overseeing COE’s growing portfolio of strategic partnerships and special projects. This position will amplify COE’s impact by developing and driving strategic partnerships with organizations across diverse industries. The role will also lead the successful creation and execution of partner-centered initiatives that increase COE’s capacity to monitor, expose and disrupt extremism and hate across the ideological spectrum. This position will serve as a key liaison between COE and various external constituents and will collaborate with various internal experts, teams and partners.
Responsibilities
Primary:
- Oversee, manage and motivate staff working on a growing portfolio of strategic partnerships and special projects.
- Strategically evaluate, secure and develop new relationships with partner organizations that increase COE’s impact on extremism and hate.
- Oversee the development and implementation of multiple projects and initiatives with external partners, including serving as primary COE point of contact.
- Develop roadmaps, timelines and strategies for new initiatives in consultation with COE VP.
- Work closely with COE’s Senior Team and Partnership Team to develop and implement priorities, strategies and impact goals related to partnerships.
- Provide thought partnership to COE leadership in strategic planning and devising new projects and initiatives
- Provide logistical support for ongoing and upcoming COE projects
- Perform other tasks as needed.
Secondary:
- Provide support to streamline and manage emerging COE operations as needed
Qualifications
Skills:
- Excellent management, operational, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to multi-task and act flexibly in response to changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, geared toward a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization
- Ability to switch between strategic and tactical orientations quickly
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust workflows accordingly
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office suite) and comfort piloting new technological tools
- Comfort working with colleagues remotely across the country
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment under pressure.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams.
- Passion to join the fight against domestic extremism and hate.
Work experience:
- Minimum ten-plus years of related work experience required, with management experience required.
- Prior experience with complex project management involving internal and external stakeholdersProven ability to plan and organize major organizational activities while managing multiple priorities.
Education:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience required
Work Environment:
- ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require up to 3 days in the office.
Compensation:
- This position has a salary range of $98,000 to $120,000. This salary range is reflective of a role based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
