Camp Shai is the JCC in Denver’s premier Jewish Day Camp serving children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade. Individuals of all backgrounds, faiths, and families are welcome. We are seeking individuals for the Office Manager role that are adaptable, goal-oriented, and excited to work in a fast-paced and fun environment where everyone is welcome. As the Office Manager, you will coordinate with the Camp Leadership team to ensure that the operations of Camp Shai are organized and efficient. This position requires you to display a variety of skills and abilities including but not limited to transitioning from one task to another, quickly and intuitively, while also showing compassion and empathy for campers, counselors, families, and staff.

Role And Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary manager of camper forms including but not limited to checking registration forms in on CampMinder, reminding parents of any missing forms, and maintaining compliance with licensure requirements
- Assist the Camp Leadership team in tracking supply purchasing and managing inventory
- Manage the Camp Shai main phone line and email inbox in a timely manner and excellent customer service
- Create and distribute weekly binders for summer staff that include pertinent information for excellent camper care in each group
- Coordinate with the Camp Leadership team to ensure a smooth check-in and check-out process for campers each day including, but not limited to, preparing camper nametags, distributing attendance binders, and managing late arrivals and early departures
- Assist summer staff in printing program materials and camper rosters
- Collaborate with summer staff members to track daily attendance of campers that is accurate and timely
- Be present with children if they become injured at camp in the office and monitor children who are ill in the sick room as they wait to be picked up.
- Modeling the highest level of positive camper-staff interactions, living the camp values, facilitating positive interactions between staff, and enhancing the overall camp experience for campers and their parents
- Serve as a role model for staff and campers by participating in camp and staff-only activities with enthusiasm and positivity
- Responsible for completing incident and behavior reports and communicating necessary information to Camp Director immediately
- Other duties as asked or assigned by Camp Leadership
Basic Qualifications
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must obtain First Aid & CPR certifications before the start date of camp. Opportunity for certification will be made available through the JCC prior to Staff Orientation. Certifications must be conducted by a Division of Early Care and Learning approved training vendor.
- Must be able to fulfill requirements for employment at the Staenberg-Loup JCC, including background screening, three professional references, documentation, and compliance with CDHS (Colorado Department of Human Services) law
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year (460 hours) of verifiable experience working with children.
- Previous experience in either a school or camp environment
- Completion of some relevant college coursework or high school diploma (GED)
- Proficient with the Microsoft Suite
- Knowledge of CampMinder a plus
Physical Demands and Working Environment
- Physical Demands: This job requires personnel to have operative auditory and visual functioning. Employees must also be able to walk upwards of two (2) miles each day, including use of stairs and uneven terrain. Employees may also stand, sit in chairs or on the ground, run, and swim. Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, effectively cope with stress, adapt to, and stay alert in a professional environment, as well as an ability to problem solve and de-escalate crisis situations and challenging behaviors.
